Mom was gone, her room was getting cleaned and I didn't even get to see her..
Weeks have passed since the funeral. People who didn't get to visit her at the hospital could only attend the funeral now.. 3osha was in my hands along with the help of grandma.
I only pittied the fact that 3osha couldn't even be celebrated.. She arrived as another member departed.
Grandmother taught me about her bottles and diapers, & I thanked God I wasn't alone..
I once had my earphones on listening to Quran, it was midnight and my thoughts of mother started. I cried myself to sleep that night.
I woke up from a dream that made me run to grandmother for her to explain it to me.
She told me mother was in a better place, she was happy, she wasn't alone.
Her words touched my heart like silk and ever since, I hadn't cried over mother again.
Nights were long & sleep was constantly interrupted. Grandmother used to sleep by my side to help when 3osha cried.
Every two hours there was something to do..
Father could only do so much, 3osha was only in his care when he was free of work.
The first day of school came in as if my life wasn't hectic enough..
School was, believe it or not, my escape from reality.. JooJoo and my books to keep me busy.
Every time I walked down the hall, I heard whispers that brought chills down my spine.. "The girl whose mother died" I was known as just that. "Sure, her mother dies, and she goes to workout at the gym. How human of her." More rumors spread..
It suddenly brought more and more attention. Their pity & hate was nothing I needed.
My new Language teacher heard a bit about me, and in class she decided I should stand in front of everyone to talk about my summer.. So I began:
"I don't know what part of my summer you want to know about, the good one or the bad..
I spent my summer in Dubai since my mother was pregnant, I learned, & I changed.. By the end of summer my mother passed away due to some complications..
She left behind a beautiful little girl. I never got to say goodbye to her, but I realized I don't have to.. As I'll be seeing her.. Later."
The girls were tearing up, some came and hugged me, others with their arms crossed and frowns upon their faces. Their pity didn't last long, their hypocrisy reappeared later that day.
A lot of people seemed to keep their distance from me, for a while I thought I might seem like death walking around..
By the next day...
